It was an impressive performance by the BJP which improved its tally from just 9481 votes in 2012 to 93341 in 2014 Lok Sabha polls. The BJP candidate from the Ballia Lok Sabha constituency, Bharat Singh, had established a massive lead of 54615 votes over his nearest SP rival Neeraj Shekhar in the Ballia Nagar assembly segment in 2014.
